TILLAMOOK COUNTY MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL NATURAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN UPDATE

FEMA APPROVABLE PENDING ADOPTION LETTER RECEIVED

-oOo-

We have now received the “Approvable Pending Adoption” or “APA” letter from FEMA Region X.  This means that FEMA has determined that the Plan meets all requirements and will issue final approval for each community after adoption.

Tillamook County is scheduled to consider the Plan for adoption on Wednesday, August 23rd; and each city and port district is expected to adopt the Plan thereafter.  Each jurisdiction will receive an individual final approval letter from FEMA.

View the APA version of the Plan on Tillamook County’s website here:  http://www.co.tillamook.or.us/gov/ComDev/NHMP/NHMP.html

TILLAMOOK COUNTY MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL NATURAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN UPDATE

FEMA REVIEWING FINAL DRAFT

-oOo-

FEMA is now reviewing the Final Draft of the Tillamook County Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan.  You can view the Final Draft here:  http://www.co.tillamook.or.us/gov/ComDev/NHMP/NHMP.html

Public comments received during this process are also available for viewing in a document called “Comments & Responses” on Tillamook County’s website.  In addition, these are included in the “Planning Process” chapter of the Final Draft.

The complete Final Draft document can be downloaded from DLCD’s FTP site via this link. It is about 40 MB and may be slow to download.

FEMA now has 45 days to review the document and may require revisions.  Subsequent to this, and once FEMA has completed its final review review, “Approvable Pending Adoption (APA)” letters will be issued.  At that point, each participating jurisdiction will independently “adopt” the entire Plan.  After each jurisdiction has adopted the Plan, it will be on to the State Office of Emergency Management who, in turn, will send it to FEMA for final approval.
